DIY hand sanitizer
Here is a simple, effective DIY hand sanitizer recipe that follows widely accepted safety guidelines.
Ingredients
Isopropyl alcohol (99%) or ethanol (95%) – ⅔ cup
Aloe vera gel – ⅓ cup
Essential oil (optional) – 10–15 drops
(i.e, peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus, or lemon)
Please note: Final alcohol concentration should be at least 60% to be effective.
Instructions
Pour the alcohol into a clean bowl or measuring cup.
Add the aloe vera gel and mix thoroughly until smooth.
Stir in essential oils if using.
Transfer to a clean pump bottle or squeeze container.
Shake before use.
Important Notes
This sanitizer is not a replacement for handwashing with soap and water.
Avoid use on broken or irritated skin.
Keep away from children and open flames.
Essential oils are optional and should be used sparingly.
